It was for a good cause so I didn't think much of it even after sobering up at the time. Originally I decided to take on this project while pretty inebriated despite my only experience in Linux being about an hour in CentOS and another 5 hours or so in Mint. I would like to apologize to the anons patiently waiting. Therefore I'm trying to figure out jschan, but that is even more convoluted for beginners (but seems to have fewer issues with software version niggerdry). The end result is that I can install php 7.0 but the mbstring add-on that's necessary for running the installation of vichan automatically updates to version 7.3 and my efforts to force a 7.0 version have failed/the only known methods according to jewgle are much more advanced than what I know. The main issue I'm running into is that vichan and its forks shit the bed when you install a version if php later than 7.0, but basically all support has been dropped for anything pre-7.3. I will bite the bullet, plop in lynxchan, and spend some money on a significantly cheaper secondary VPS to actually learn web hosting on. Or B) Have figured out how to get things working by Sunday and thus can have it up by that Monday/Tuesday I'm trying to avoid using lynxchan if possible mainly because I hate the interface, but assuming I can't either:
